Designer | Start-rite Shoes | From January 2010 To November 2016 |
have been a quality children’s footwear designer at Start-rite Shoes for 7 years. My work has involved all aspects of footwear including girls and boys pre-walkers, first walking, school shoes, boots, sandals, wellies and slippers. I have travelled to the Far East and India to oversee sampling and keep styles within budget, plus European travel for competitive shopping and trade fairs. My duties included trend prediction, leather selection, design and specification of ranges. Notable achievements in that time include: - Prince George has been photographed on numerous occasions wearing a pair of ‘Flexi-soft Air’ shoes that I designed. - Suri Cruise (daughter of Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes) has been in the press wearing a pair of canvas bar shoes with a bespoke cupcake print that I designed. - Start-rite have aired two TV adverts featuring school shoes designed by me. - Unisex style ‘Digby/Chelsea’ boot has been a best seller since I designed it back in AW2013 and it is still going strong and will continue into AW 2017. This style has been featured on social media many times and has had the most ‘likes’ and reviews compared to any other Start-rite shoe. - SS 2014 saw sales of girls canvas, soley designed by me, increase by 43%. |

Design Manager | Epicentre & Best Source | From November 2004 To October 2009 |
Creative Director of Promotional Bags, Caps, Jackets and Lifestyle goods for Australia & the UK market. I designed and fast tracked a new range of promotional bags which involved extensive travel to the Far East to oversee the manufacturing of samples and overseeing production. I also traveled overseas to study and keep abreast of the competitors product. I liased with internal staff in QC, Graphics and Sales to ensure that the product that I designed met the customers needs and internal quality standards. I met regularly with distributors and their clients globally to design bespoke products for major brands all with distinctive, inventive design features tailored to the specific needs of the consumer. Promotional Bags and Caps, in the past, have often been immediately thrown away due to cheap quality, poor design and ‘logo slapping’. My main aim was to design a quality product, within budget, that will market the brand and be used time and time again. |

Design Manager | Premier Luggage & Promobags | From October 2002 To October 2004 |
Design Manager of Fashion Handbags, Luggage, Promotional & Children’s Licensed Bags. Whilst working at Premier Luggage my duties included the managing of the design team (including creative direction in the production of all promotional material), overseeing the design and manufacture of multiple ranges for the Australian promotional market including handbags, luggage, Disney and Sesame Street licensed children’s bags. Paramount was to develop items at a cost sensitive level without compromising the design or the products features. |

These projects called for Innovative, market appropriate designs within set time lines. My duties included extensive global travel for the managment of sampling and for the purpose of trend and style research. My management role within JPM and the Nike team was to ensure all deadlines were met, the design briefs were answered and the finished products were to an extremely high standard. |
