I have an undergraduate degree in multimedia journalism and several years experience in marketing/advertising. I am proficient in conversational Spanish and ran a surf camp/surf school in Costa Rica for a year and a half. Prior to the surf camp I volunteered teaching a class to local women in CR as well. Most recently I taught surf lessons and surf camp in the Outer Banks of NC during summer 2013. I'm passionate about the condition of the earth's water and about women's role in local communities

I recently transitioned out of the military after 12 years, 9 of which were with special operations. Early in my career I was stationed in San Diego, which is where I started surfing, and was immediately and irrevocably hooked. I've surfed much of southern California, as well as the central east coast (NC, SC). Surfing has embedded itself so prominently in my life that it's like oxygen for me; it's more than an obsession, it's a way of life, and I'd love to fuse my passion with my next career.

I can be considered as a waterman, as I practice surf, paddleboard and windsurf. I'm a windsurf teacher. I owned a surf, paddleboard and windsurf school in Thailand. I used to be a spanish teacher for 10 years before working abroad, and also worked in Spain as an Export manager for 6 years. I used to organize skiing week ends when I was a student. I also practice ski and snowboard.
